State-owned Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) reported a 69.85% increase in net profit to Rs 291 crore for Q1 FY24, up from Rs 172 crore a year earlier. Total income rose to Rs 1,558 crore from Rs 1,227 crore. Expenses grew to Rs 1,265 crore from Rs 1,070 crore. SCI, under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, remains India’s largest shipping company. This robust profit growth indicates a strong operational performance and could benefit the shipping sector.
