The rupee rebounded 61 paise to 86.84 against the US dollar on Tuesday after nearing the 88-mark on Monday. The Reserve Bank of India intervened, selling USD 2-3 billion to curb volatility amid rising trade war concerns. The US dollar index surged to 108.40, driven by new tariffs. The rupee is expected to trade in the 87.20-88.20 range, with 87.00 as a key support level.
