Auto stocks declined after US President Donald Trump announced a 25% tariff on auto imports from April. Tata Motors fell 6.58% to ₹661.35, while Ashok Leyland, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Bajaj Auto also dropped. Auto component makers like Samvardhana Motherson International and Sona BLW Precision Forgings slumped over 6%. The tariff will hurt Tata Motors, which exports a large share of Jaguar Land Rover cars to the US, impacting its revenue and stock outlook.
