The rupee fell 67 paise to a record low of 87.29 against the US dollar on Monday, driven by fears of a global trade war after President Trump imposed tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China. Sustained foreign fund outflows, strong dollar demand, and weak risk appetite added pressure. The dollar index rose 1.30% to 109.77, while Brent crude prices climbed 0.71% to USD 76.21 per barrel.
