Sebi is making new rules for foreign investors who use ODIs and special FPI accounts. Right now, these investors have less rules to follow than regular foreign investors. Sebi wants to change this. New rules will mean more information about who owns these investments. Also, these investors won’t be able to use some tricks to make money. This could affect how much foreign money comes into India and stock prices.
