Indian markets plunged as Sensex dropped 1.59% to 77,965, and Nifty lost 1.62%, closing at 23,616. Concerns over Q3 earnings growth, rising foreign fund outflows, and fears of Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) led to heavy selling. Utilities and banking stocks bore the brunt.
