भारत टॉप Shipbuilding Nations में जगह बनाना चाहता है
Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) 2035 तक भारतीय shipyards को प्रोत्साहन देने वाली नई shipbuilding scheme तैयार कर रहा है, ताकि 2030 तक टॉप 10 और 2047 तक टॉप five shipbuilding nations में जगह बने। Global cruise operator MSC Cruises ने घरेलू स्तर पर जहाज तैनात करने में रुचि दिखाई है। MoPSW, Shipping Corporation of India और oil marketing companies के बीच बड़े tankers के लिए joint venture की भी पड़ताल कर रहा है। मंत्रालय green fuels या electric/hybrid propulsion वाले vessels के लिए financial support भी देगा। Policy भारत के shipbuilding sector में मजबूत growth और green shipping technologies में ज्यादा अवसर का संकेत देती है।
