Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has set a target for India’s leather and footwear industry to reach $50 billion in exports by 2030, up from the current $5 billion. He emphasized leveraging free trade agreements with Australia and the UAE and adhering to quality control norms to enhance global competitiveness. Goyal also highlighted the potential to create 10 million jobs in the sector and urged a focus on world-class product manufacturing.
