Tata Motors remains optimistic about the electric vehicle (EV) market despite recent sales declines. The company, led by MD Shailesh Chandra, plans to sell 100,000 EVs this fiscal year, focusing on the new CURVV.EV mid-sized SUV priced from Rs 17.49 lakh. The Curvv.ev boasts a range of up to 585 km on a single charge. Tata Motors’ EV sales have dipped 12% year-on-year in July 2024 due to a high base effect and fleet segment issues, but Chandra views this as a temporary trend. The focus on EVs aligns with broader industry trends, signaling potential long-term gains for investors.
